Meadowdale Boys Tennis Team 2010 is on RECORD PACE

The 2010 Meadowdale Boys team led by #1 Singles Player Alex Casper who is currently 13-0 in regular season play. The team is looking to set a season win record and win a Wesco League championship. The Boys team is 12-1 over-all. In 2003 the boys team finished 13-3 and shared a league championship with Shorewood. This year is different with the regard to depth on the roster. Meadowdale has a loaded singles line-up with a much improved Brian Nguyen at #2 singles. Brian worked incredibly hard in his off-season to prepare for a great Junior year, his efforts certainly paid off! Brian is currently 11-2 and looks to be the most improved player of the year. Brian has his eyes set on the post season tournaments- not to mention a State Berth. #3 Singles is led by Freshman new-comer Nicholas Ekern who has shown great poise at 10-3.
The #1 doubles team of Grant Lovell and Scott Bohmke are also having a great season. At one point competing in 14 straight sets without losing a single game! Scott and Grant finished in 8th place over-all last year at the 3A State Tournament and have their hearts set on making it to the State Doubles Final this year. The #2 Doubles team, Cameron Hathaway and Andrew Fijalka have had a ton of success this season and with their previous post season experience expect to take it to the next level at this years tournaments.

Over-all this season has been very special. The character of this team is the #1 reason for their success. They have a quiet confidence about them, they have an incredible competitive spirit, filled with outstanding sportsmanship. Many of the athletes on this boys team hold a 4.0 GPA -several of them are involved in ASB and other student leadership roles and groups at the school. As Head Coach, I appointed 3 Co-Captains to lead this team.. I could have added more- but then they would have been leading each other..it's a team full of roll models and maturity.

In short, they are a coaches dream team and I am so proud of each and every one of them.
